Think about it. How often do we wash ourselves with soap that has dyes and chemicals? How often do you drink something that has preservatives, dyes, and chemicals? How often do you eat something that has hormones, chemicals, antibiotics, and more?
Yes, we all have been over saturated with dyes, hormones, chemicals, preservatives. and who knows what. Look around. You see girls at eight and ten years old developing breasts. You see young people getting cancer. You see people getting Alzheimer’s disease and dementia more and more. I am in no way a clean freak or someone who has OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) when it comes to germs, food, or touching things that dirty (cleanliness). I smoke cigarettes. I drink beer. And I occasionally eat lots of ice cream BEFORE I actually eat a hamburger at my favorite local bar/restaurant. I am in no way one of those people who is always trying to push others to go vegetarian. I go by “live and let live.” My girlfriend is a vegetarian and as of yet she knows I will never switch to her side of being a non “meat eater.” But this I do know, I am sick and tired of just about every product having high fructose corn syrup. I’m tired of seeing red dye #40 in just about every desert and fruit drink. I’m tired of companies that just don’t get it. Very tired.
I went shopping with my girlfriend last month and saw that some company (that will remain anonymous) had a new soap out. It was “green tea” soap. This company is a very large and well known company. I looked at the ingredients. It had two different dyes in it as well as chemicals and “fragrances”. What is the point. Really. Is this company stupid? Are they slow? Are they dead? You are making a soap called “Green Tea” soap. So this is going to appeal to people who drink green tea. Who drinks green tea? People who drink green tea are mostly going to be people who are interested in their health, their well being, and natural elements that are going to benefit them. And so this company puts all this junk (dyes and chemicals) into their soap. It’s just stupid. And it just proves that the big companies just don’t get it. They don’t. They really don’t. And so this is one of the reasons why this site came to being. There are great companies and places to get what you want that are natural, good for you, and not full of crap, junk, dyes, chemicals.
So like I said before, I am in no way a health nut, a vegetarian, or someone with OCD. But this I do know, eating local honey helps my allergies and my immune system (as well as eating Manuka honey). Drinking water that is a but alkaline (8.5) as well as eating foods that are not too acidic but alkaline helps my body be balanced. Having an acidic body leads to disease. Dyes in food aren’t good for the immune system as well your arthritis. Eating foods with high fructose syrup can be troublesome as the body has a hard time processing high processed foods. I read. I learn. And I change my eating habbits.
You know, they say the definition of insanity is “looking for a different result after doing the same thing over and over.” So why would you think that eating the same foods that are full of unnatural ingredients and washing yourself with similar products full of chemicals would be good for you. They’re not. Yes. We are all going to die sometime as my friend Christine would tell me when I’d ask her why she has to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day. But do you want to spend the last twenty years of your life with diabetes, being on life support for failed lungs, or having cancer for the last fifteen years of your life? No. You don’t.
It’s easy to start a new direction. I read every label when I buy food or food related products. As it has been said, “If the ingredient label reads like a book, than you don’t want to eat it.” Period. For example, when I buy food, I want to see “flower, salt, baking soda, and water.” If there is sugar I don’t want high fructose syrup. I want pure cane sugar or something real and similar. Mostly I try to stay away from sugar but if I have sweets I try to get something real, freshly baked, and not over processed.
Recently I have bought Sapo Hill soaps. I don;t use anything else right now to wash with. They are real and natural ingredients. I’ll go to their website right now so you can see. Here are the ingredients from their website:

Here is the link to their soaps.
I’m going to call them about the “fragrances” reference. Will get back to you on that one. Natural is better. Natural is good. Yes, I love to have a few beers once a week. I smoke cigarettes (not that much, about 3-5 a week) and once every other week I have a juicy burger. As they say, “I ain’t no angel.” But I don’t have to stuff chemicals and dyes down my throat each day. I don’t have to put dyes all over me each day with soap. And I certainly don’t have to take synthetic prescriptions to resolve my issues.
This brings me to the next level here. Prescriptions. Come back for more later.
Thanks,
Tom
